A dear friend is in the midst of planning a gorgeous wedding where the ceremony will take place inside a planetarium. As I toured the space with her so many great ideas of how to incorporate the stars and constellations into the entire event were swirling around in my head.
The first piece of art that displays the theme for any event is in the save the date, which should be sent out anywhere from year to 6 months before the event. For this, my friend chose to create her own stationary and she did an amazing job. I love the detail, fonts, and the colors in their save the date!
The celestial theme will be carried forward in their invitations and then again throughout the evening of the event by using color and lighting.
Their photographer is well versed in shooting inside this planetarium and I cant wait to see the photos from their big day. I imagine it’s a challenge to get the lighting just right in such a dark space. Until then here are some images I found of weddings taken place in a planetarium:
Other ways to carry the theme forward is use of tablescape. Table numbers, seating cards, and menus with relevant constellations would tie in beautifully to the stationary.
You could also tie in favors, glassware, and centerpieces.

Constellation Glassware

These plates by West Elm caught my eye and are so dreamy. Unfortunately, they are no longer available or I would have scooped them up. ☹
